Why Patients Give Up Before They Book
A patient looking for care is usually uncomfortable, often on a phone, and frequently searching in the evening. Five questions decide whether they book with you or keep scrolling.
Booking means calling during office hours
Most people search for care outside the hours you answer the phone. If the only route is a number that rings out until Monday, a motivated patient becomes someone else’s motivated patient by Saturday morning.
The basic answers are buried
Do you treat this condition, do you take this insurance, are you accepting new patients, where exactly are you and when are you open. When those take more than a few seconds to find, patients assume the answer is no.
The providers are strangers
People choose a clinician, not a building. A name and a headshot gives an anxious patient nothing — no training, no approach, no sense of what the appointment will be like.
The site excludes some of your patients
Low-contrast text, tiny tap targets and forms that break with a screen reader shut out older patients and patients with disabilities — often precisely the people who most need to reach you.
Create a Better Digital Experience for Your Patients
A practice website succeeds or fails on how quickly it answers five questions: do you treat what I have, do you take my insurance, are you accepting patients, where are you, and how soon can I be seen. We build the site around that sequence — clear service pages, honest provider profiles, visible location and hours, and an appointment request path a patient can complete at ten at night on a phone.
Accessibility is treated as part of the build rather than an afterthought, because a real share of your patients are older or have a visual, motor or cognitive impairment. That means genuine text contrast, keyboard navigation, properly labelled forms, sensible heading structure and type that survives zooming. Local search gets the same weight: for most practices a well-configured Google Business Profile plus location and service pages is where new patients actually come from.
Behind it are our usual services applied carefully here: custom web design so the practice feels calm and current, UI/UX design for the booking path itself, SEO and technical optimisation for local visibility, and website maintenance so hours, providers and insurance details never go stale.
- A short appointment request path that works outside office hours
- Services, insurance, hours and location answered in seconds, not clicks
- Provider profiles with real credentials, training and approach to care
- Accessible, WCAG-informed design built for older and impaired patients
- Local SEO and a Google Business Profile for “near me” care searches
What We Build for Medical and Dental Practices
The parts of a practice website that decide whether a patient books or keeps looking.
Appointment Request & Scheduling
A short request form that reaches your front desk with an honest call-back promise — or a scheduling tool embedded or connected where your systems allow it.
Treatment & Service Pages
A page per service or condition you treat, written in plain language, so a patient can confirm you handle their problem before deciding to call.
Provider Profile Pages
Real profiles for each clinician — training, credentials, specialties and approach to care — so an anxious patient knows who they would actually be seeing.
Location, Hours & Insurance Pages
Each location with directions, parking, accessibility, hours and accepted insurance — the practical detail that decides whether an appointment is possible.
Accessible Front-End Build
Built to WCAG guidance: real contrast, keyboard navigation, labelled forms, screen-reader-friendly structure and type that holds up when zoomed.
Patient Resources & New Patient Info
What to bring, what a first visit involves, forms to complete in advance, and answers to the questions your front desk fields every single day.
Cómo trabajamos
The same five steps we run on every build, applied to a medical or dental practice.
Discovery & Research
Your services, providers, locations and insurers — and how patients currently reach you and where they drop out.
Wireframe
The shortest honest route from a symptom search to a booked appointment, agreed before any visual design.
Design & Build
Your brand applied and built out accessibly — service pages, provider profiles, locations and the booking path.
Feedback & Refinement
Two structured rounds, with clinical wording reviewed and approved by your practice before it goes near a page.
Launch & Support
Business Profile, Search Console and tracking live at launch, then upkeep as hours, providers and insurers change.
Healthcare Website Questions, Answered
Far less than most practice websites offer. Studies of patient behaviour and our own experience point the same way: they want to confirm you treat their problem, check you take their insurance, see where you are and when you are open, get a sense of the provider they would see, and then book or call. Usually on a phone, often outside office hours. Everything else — mission statements, stock photography, long histories of the practice — sits between the patient and those five things. The best practice sites are the ones that get out of the way.
Yes, at whatever depth suits the practice. The simplest version is a short request form that reaches your front desk and sets an honest expectation for when someone will call back. Beyond that, we can embed or link a scheduling tool, or connect to a practice management or EHR system where it offers an integration. What matters is that the path is short and the promise is accurate — a booking widget that no one monitors is worse than a phone number.
A brochure site that publishes services, hours and provider information is not handling protected health information. The moment a form invites someone to describe symptoms, or you add patient messaging, portals or records, PHI is in scope and you need appropriate safeguards and a Business Associate Agreement with any vendor touching that data. We design intake forms to collect the minimum needed to schedule, and where a project genuinely requires PHI handling we scope it with your compliance advisor rather than improvising. We are a web company, not your compliance counsel.
Local search carries most healthcare enquiries, and it rests on a well-configured Google Business Profile — correct specialties and categories, accurate hours, location, and a steady flow of genuine patient reviews — supported by pages on your own site for each location and service. Ranking depends on your competition, your reviews and how established the listing is, so it is ongoing work rather than a switch. We do not promise a position or a patient volume.
More than for most sectors, and for practical reasons as well as ethical and legal ones. A meaningful share of patients have a visual, motor or cognitive impairment, and older patients are a large audience for many practices. We build to WCAG guidance as a matter of course: real text contrast, keyboard navigation, proper labels and headings, forms that work with a screen reader, and type that stays readable when someone zooms. It also happens to make the site easier for everybody else.
